To commemorate David Attenborough turning 100, our woods event is all about caring for our planet. There will be natural craft activities, den building, scavenger hunt and a focus on the environment. With this in mind, we are encouraging all families to consider car sharing or using public transport. There will be staff members on the 09.22am train from Harwich Town, who can support families to walk from the train station to the woods and then returning home again. This will be a very enjoyable experience for the children, and something you will hopefully do again in the future - under 5's travel free with a paying adult. ![]()

What a fabulous day we had yesterday celebrating 30 years of Home-Start Harwich. 210 people joined us for lots of fun, pizza picnic, magic show, face paint, balloons, games, activities and craft. There will be lots more photographs to share once we get them but for now I just wanted to share this great clip. Thank you to everybody who helped, our amazing volunteers, sponsors -RWE Galloper Windfarm and Harwich Town Council, to Bill Davidson for allowing us to use the Parkeston Welfare Park, TLC for bringing all their resources and to the staff for going over and above, especially racing in inflatable costumes in the very hot weather, thanks also go The Harwich Society for the loan of their fete games and to Sean Mills for delivering them and taking them back for us and last but not least, to the amazing Hollyvision for her photo and video skills. Another great example of the Harwich community working together

Our event tomorrow will be going ahead please dress for the hot weather, wear sun hats, suncream and bring extra drinks, we will do our best to create some shade 🌞
On Thursday we celebrated Home-Start Harwich supporting local families for 30 years with supporters, volunteers, trustees and staff from all 3 decades. We would like to thank everybody for joining us to celebrate this incredible milestone. It was an opportunity to reflect on everything that has been achieved, none of which would have been possible without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, trustees, partners and of course our wonderful supporters and their belief in our mission. As we celebrate our past, we also look to ahead with hope and determination, knowing that together, we can continue to support families for many years to come.
